eXact 2 for Commercial Print and Packaging Converters

With eXact 2, you can measure paper and flexible film substrates with a single device. It offers built-in scanning and an intuitive design to get to make-ready color in less time, saving wasted substrate and ink while maximizing press output across a shift.

With eXact 2, you can meet quality standards 17% faster than alternative solutions and make even the most color-critical customers happy. This device is equipped with a “two-taps or less” touch-screen interface and on-board high-resolution camera, which powers MantisTM video targeting technology and the unique Digital Loupe feature. That means you can zoom in on the measurement area, inspect patches, analyze dot gain, read plates, and even save an image of a color measurement for compliance.

eXact 2 comes with Pantone Master libraries, and direct access to the dependent libraries via PantoneLIVE on the device. With this on-board functionality, you can use thousands of the latest standards to meet customer color needs across a large variety of paper, film, and paperboard substrates and stay on top of color trends.

eXact 2 also offers the best formulation and quality control tools and reporting capabilities. With ColorCert software integration, ColorCert job results are displayed instantly on the device minimizing the need to go to another computer and helping you hit color standards fast.

Wi-Fi connectivity with X-Rite Link is a game changer for busy pressrooms that need to manage a fleet of devices. This modern dashboard provides real-time insight into device status and ensures all devices are NetProfiled and ready to go with the latest firmware.

eXact 2 for Ink Suppliers

eXact 2 is a handheld measurement solution that is tailored to your unique needs so you can clearly communicate color data to printers and converters and formulate fast, accurate recipes.

The non-contact measurement area prevents wet ink contamination and the need to re-measure. With a switchable polarization filter, you can formulate and proof inks for a wider variety of substrates, including flexible film, with one single device. eXact 2 simultaneously measures all measurement conditions described in ISO 13655:2017: M0, UV included; M1 (methods 1 & 2), D50; M2, UV excluded; M3 - Polarization. That means you can use the same model for all your facilities, regardless of substrate, and move an eXact 2 between facilities without worrying if it is the right type of device.

Close integration with X-Rite’s InkFormulation Software accelerates color development through better match performance and reduced proofing. With unique formulation capabilities, you can formulate accurate ink color the first time to save time and money and use leftover inks and press returns to reduce overall ink inventories.

eXact 2 Plus can measure in simultaneous M0, M1, M2, and M3.

Substrates

Like eXact 2 Xp, eXact 2 Plus can measure paper, board, folded carton, metal with white opaque, and BOPP (biaxially-oriented polypropylene) white or clear, LDPE (low density polyethylene) white or clear, HDPE (high density polyethylene) white or clear, flexible film, and materials with polarized qualities.

eXact 2 Plus offers an additional reflectance graph to evaluate the material’s reflectance characteristics for shiny and metallic substrates.

Additional Functions

Unlike eXact 2 and eXact Xp, eXact 2 Plus can also measure paper indices (whiteness, yellowness), metamerism, absolute and relative color strength, and opacity.

Sample Storage (including image capture)

eXact 2 Plus can store 20 Digital Loupe images plus a mix of more than 50,000 samples and standards.

Pantone Master Libraries

eXact 2 comes preloaded with the Pantone Formula Guide (solid coated, uncoated) and Pastels and Neon Guide (coated and uncoated).

Unlike the other eXact 2 models, eXact 2 Plus also includes a 1-year license to the PantoneLIVE Dependent libraries.
